The Cairn Distillery

The opening of any new business is an exciting time. A signifier of optimism, adventure and overcoming of obstacles – all of which portray The Cairn Distillery.

Beginning back in July 2020, The Cairn Distillery finally opened its doors to a warm welcome last week. A modern distillery built on generations of industry expertise, The Cairn is a stunning establishment in the heart of the Cairngorms.

The Cairn is inspired by its stunning surroundings, drawing influences from the adventurous spirit of Cairngorms National Park.

TGP’s contribution to this project matches the level of care committed to each and every whisky produced by The Cairn. TGP was commissioned by Gordon & MacPhail to deliver both landscape planning and design services for Cairn Distillery at Grantown on Spey. The design approach focused on delivery of a natural aesthetic, incorporating native woodland and parkland-style tree planting in combination with native wildflower meadow and marginal wetland areas to enhance existing habitats within the site and exert a positive, lasting impact on the character of the surrounding Spey Valley.
