Drummers Corner, Peterhead

Following the successful delivery of previous projects for Aberdeenshire Council, TGP was approached to find a solution to the issue of an unwanted and unloved shelter in the centre of Peterhead.

Whilst the Drummers Corner open space is high quality in its materials, over the years, the design has become dated and the structures have fallen into disrepair.

The Councillors asked for a unique, statement structure to replace the previous shelter and TGP designed a new shelter, incorporating power supplies and internal lighting.

The shelter is now well-loved and used as a centrepiece for events, markets and music productions. It’s a success that combines historic references with innovative designs and materials of the highest quality. It has revitalised the town centre and provides a social focus that will be used for years to come.
