Last week, as part of the Landscape Institute Scotland Reflection Series, Gary gave a lecture alongside Laura Scott-Simmons and Derek Dunsire on the Glasgow Avenues project. Glasgow City Council is investing approximately £115 million within the city centre, as part of the Glasgow City Region City Deal funding, to deliver on the Enabling Infrastructure Integrated Public Realm (EIIPR) programme. This will see streetscape improvements made to the public realm with the establishment of principal Avenues throughout the city centre, to form an integrated network of continuous pedestrian and cycle priority routes.
The project aims to transform the city centre from a hostile, traffic dominated streets, to a place for people to enjoy with a more attractive, safer and inclusive streetscape.
