TGP has announced the commencement of the delivery phase of the renovation of Thompson Park in Burnley. Working alongside Storah Architects and Burnley Borough Council’s Engineering team, the firm will collaborate to refine the Round 2 proposals to the tender stage before moving on to the implementation phase of the works.
The ambitious renovation plans include the revitalization of the park’s play area, boathouse, and pavilion, as well as the restoration of the Italian Garden. The renovation aims to bring the park’s facilities up-to-date and improve the overall visitor experience.
TGP and its partners are committed to preserving the park’s historic features while updating its amenities to meet modern standards. The park, which was originally opened in 1930, has long been a popular destination for local residents and visitors alike. The renovation aims to ensure that the park remains a valued community asset for generations to come.
The delivery phase of the project is expected to take several months, with the restoration work set to be completed in time for the park’s anticipated reopening in the spring of 2018. The project has received widespread support from the local community and is expected to contribute significantly to the continued development of Burnley’s parks and green spaces.
