Project approach and deliverables:

• Maintaining the formal character of the pedestrian ribbon.
• Use of formal landscape components, specimen trees and shrub planting to provide shelter from prevailing westerlies (and Spring easterlies).
• Featuring urban character around the central plaza to the nucleus.
• Linking the College to the wider University green network.
• Incorporation of a large volume of swales to take water to the new lake, i.e. positive SUDS design utilising informal landform and naturalistic planting.
• Use of dedicated growing areas incorporating herb beds.
• Extensive use of willow and wetland species associated with swales.
• Use of naturalistic grasses, wildflower meadows and groundcover species.
