Elmbank Street Hotel

Glasgow Commercial

TGP, in collaboration with Convery Prenty Shields Architects, developed a landscape consultancy scope for the Elmbank Street Hotel, covering RIBA Stages 2-3 to support a planning application.

The landscape design aimed to create a welcoming and sustainable outdoor environment that enhanced the guest experience while complementing the urban setting. A thoughtfully designed courtyard garden featured a mix of herbaceous planting, small shrubs, and groundcover for year-round visual appeal. Raised planters and small trees added structure and greenery, contributing to biodiversity and air quality.

Paving materials were carefully selected to define distinct zones, with flagstone and stone paving for pedestrian pathways and plaza-style linear paving in key areas. Integrated seating areas provided inviting outdoor spaces, while permeable surfaces supported sustainable drainage.

The design aligned with Glasgow City Council’s planning policies, emphasizing accessibility, safety, and long-term maintenance efficiency. Seamlessly integrated with the hotel’s architectural vision, it ensured a cohesive and visually engaging landscape.
